This Privacy Policy describes how TenSeven LLC ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and discloses your information when you use TenSeven Training Academy at https://academy.tensevensecurity.com (the "Site"), including when you register for guard certification or training courses, reserve a seat, or make a payment. By using the Site, you agree to the practices described in this Policy.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

  • Information you provide. Name, email address, phone number (including mobile number, if you opt in to text messaging), mailing address, billing information, course selections, and any information you submit when creating an account, registering for a course, or contacting us.
  • Certification and training records. Course enrollment, attendance, completion status, assessment and pass/fail results, and certification or licensing-prep records associated with your account.
  • Payment information. Payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. We do not store full payment card numbers on our servers. Stripe collects and processes your card details directly under its own privacy policy. We receive limited transaction data such as confirmation, amount, and the last four digits of your card.
  • Automatically collected information. When you visit the Site, we and our analytics providers automatically collect device and usage data including IP address, browser type, pages viewed, referring URLs, and timestamps, through cookies and similar technologies.
  • Marketing data. If you opt in, your email address and engagement data (opens, clicks) for our newsletters and promotional communications.

2. Background Check and Licensing Information

Certain certifications and security licenses require a criminal background check, fingerprinting, and other eligibility screening conducted by the applicable state authority or an authorized third party. We do not perform or store the results of background checks through the Site. You are responsible for completing any required background check directly with the relevant authority. We may collect confirmation that you have met a prerequisite, but we do not collect or retain the underlying screening data.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the Site and your account.
  • Process course reservations, enrollments, and payments through Stripe.
  • Deliver training content and issue certification or completion records based on attendance and assessment results.
  • Communicate with you about your account, courses, schedules, and changes.
  • Send marketing and newsletter emails where you have opted in (you may unsubscribe at any time).
  • Analyze usage to improve the Site and our services.
  • Detect, prevent, and address fraud, security issues, and technical problems.
  • Comply with legal, regulatory, and licensing obligations.

  • Service providers — payment processing (Stripe), email/marketing platforms, hosting, and analytics providers who process data on our behalf.
  • Legal and regulatory authorities — where required by law, regulation, legal process, or to support guard licensing and certification requirements.
  • Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
  • With your consent — for any other purpose disclosed at the time of collection.

6. Payment Processing

All payments are handled by Stripe. Your use of Stripe's payment services is subject to Stripe's Privacy Policy and Terms. We encourage you to review Stripe's policies at stripe.com/privacy.

7. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services, maintain certification and training records, comply with legal and licensing obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

8. Data Security

We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. SMS and Text Messaging

If you provide your mobile phone number and opt in, we may send you text (SMS/MMS) messages relating to your account and courses, such as enrollment confirmations, schedule and appointment reminders, and account or payment notifications. We will only send promotional or marketing text messages if you separately and expressly opt in to receive them.

  • Message frequency may vary. Message and data rates may apply.
  • You may opt out of text messages at any time by replying STOP to any message; you may receive a one-time confirmation that you have been unsubscribed.

  • Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of purchasing any course.
  • We do not share your mobile opt-in data or consent with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

10. Your Rights and Choices

  • Unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in any such email.
  • Opt out of text messages by replying STOP.
  • Update your account information by logging into your account.

11. Children's Privacy

The Site is intended for individuals 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
